What does the Content Filtering On/Off/Lenient/Moderate/Strict setting do in the wizard?

The Lenient/Moderate/Strict settings are related to your business type and are engineered to give you and your work environment the best experience.

Off – Turns off all restriction and allows all users to freely surf the internet and do anything they would like.

Once On, the following options become available:

Lenient – Provides basic filtering of harmful and inappropriate content

Moderate – Provides firmer controls on internet usage. Blocks “time wasters” such as games, certain video streaming services, certain peer to peer applications, etc...

Strict – Blocks almost everything that isn’t related to your business. Provides the firmest/most strict control of the internet. Blocks all social media, messaging, streaming, entertainment (unless it’s related to your business) and only allows content that is directly related to your business.

Custom - Need to deviate from above? Use the Custom option to tweak categories as needed

What if I get blocked going somewhere I need? Do I have to go to the setup wizard and change my setting to something lower?

You could change your settings to something lower, but the better option is:

When you get blocked, there is a “proceed” button. Click it. Enter the username and password you set up for the web filtering override in the setup wizard. This will now allow only you to browse one time to that website.

How do I change the settings after initial setup?

You can always run the setup wizard again in the portal and change any settings that you like. Changing network settings is not recommended because it may cause connectivity issues.  The setup wizard is in the portal located at https://mdsmanager.com/login.php

After setup, Windows PC's are showing "no internet access" although they can access the internet. How can I fix this?

This can happen, especially with Windows 7. A reboot should fix the issue. If not, there are a few resource if you Google the issue. Disabling the Bonjour service or giving priority to your primary internet adapter.
