OmniWAN Services Summary

OmniWAN applies cutting edge SD-WAN technology against a single or multiple ISP links to improve overall user experience.  This includes line optimization, bi-directional application prioritization, algorithm based line degradation management, all of which are layered with the OmniShield threat management platform.

The "optimization" process puts each ISP connection through rigorous tests to determine the best performance based on highest speed achieved while keeping latency, packet loss, jitter at minimal acceptable levels.  Quality is enhanced as OmniBridge keeps the lines from being pushed past their limits of useful bandwidth.  This is what we refer to as "Dynamic Guardrails".

Note: The ideal time to perform "optimization" on DSL, Cable an other shared ISP services, is at times of least load since they will be the cleanest a that time compared to normal business hours.

Our dynamic adaptation algorithms is enabled after optimization. It constantly watches for jitter packet loss, latency, flapping and overall performance changes on each ISP link.  If a line becomes under-performing or unstable at normal loads, OmniWAN automatically pulls back the load on that line to as typically quality improves and then moves back up to the optimized levels as performance improves automatically.  This helps smooth out transient issues such as increase of jitter, latency, and packet loss due to carrier load.  Seamless fail-over or active-active adds another layer of balance to the overall experience when paired with more than 1 ISP, as well as adding resiliency to the overall connection.

QoS (Quality-of-Service) is applied to traffic bidirectionally to ensure the right traffic, such as voice and other low-latency dependent applications, are prioritized.  By steering traffic so that important applications have preferred bandwidth, lowered tiered apps with bulk transfers are prevented from saturating the available throughput upstream, making for an optimal user experience.

The SD-WAN functionality is paired with security features of OmniShield that block malicious or unwanted traffic from going across the wire in the first place.  Blocking threats in both inbound and outbound directions further improves bandwidth allocation to the critical business traffic.
